Buenos Aires Explorer
Buenos Aires Explorer is a desktop application built in C# with Windows Forms for planning tourist itineraries around the city. It uses SQLite as an embedded database and integrates the Nominatim geocoding API to automatically resolve addresses to coordinates.
The Challenge
The goal was to build a functional application without relying on external UI frameworks or paid services. All routing logic and distance calculation was implemented from scratch, with SQLite for local persistence.
Technical Highlights
The Nominatim integration converts place names to geographic coordinates automatically. The routing algorithm calculates a visit order based on distances, generating an optimized itinerary directly on the client.
